THEY HONOR YOU WITH THEIR LIPS BUT THEIR HEARTS ARE FAR FROM YOU!!!

LOOTING YOU FOR ALL YOU HAVE BEFORE GOD TAKES THE LAST BREATH FROM YOU

hyp·o·criteˈhipəˌkrit/
A hypocrite preaches one thing, and does another. ... The word hypocrite is rooted in the Greek word hypokrites, which means “stage actor, pretender, dissembler.” So think of a hypocrite as a person who pretends to be a certain way, but really acts and believes the total opposite.

I'm a student before a teacher and always will be.

In my book, The Mind of Wing Chun, I labored hard to drive home the point, that before I ever decided to teach the beautiful Wing Chun Kali System, I was always just a student. As a matter of fact, it wasn't until people started asking me questions about how to do this or how to do that in the art, that I realized my teaching abilities.

It wasn't until I started answering enough people's questions that I kind of fell into the role of "teacher." Although, yes, I do teach under the Wing Chun Kali System, which is my fathers art, I'll always be a student. I'm not ashamed or so lofty to say that I'm a student. I mean, fortunately for me, not only will I always be a student, but I'll always be my fathers son (until the blood-test results say otherwise).

Let's also not forget that I'm always learning from life too. While yes, I still continue to learn and be in awe of what my father gives me; I can't leave out the beautiful lessons my Heavenly Father gives me too! I'm a disciple to both my earthly and Heavenly father's first and then try and live my life in a manner that honors them both. If I stray in my ways, it only dishonors them both and shows that I am not worthy to be called - son.

So what in the world does this have to do with "Far hearts", "hypocrites" and "looting?"

Very good question. Very good indeed.

 You see...

  • I never got in the art, solely so that I can be a teacher - to the contrary, it was to be a student

  • I don't "tell" my father one thing and "do" another. The way I am with everyone that I come in contact with, is the EXACT same way I am with my father

  • I speak rather highly about my father and honor him with how I comport myself, live my life and teach his art. What I say to others about my father, is what my father would hear directly from me himself - no loss in translation

  • I respect and honor the people that my father respects and honors, since he has proven his judgement in people to be on-point, over and over - regardless of my own "feelings"

  • My father is a treasure to me, not for what he can give me but for who he is. He doesn't hold the keys to the treasure, he IS the treasure. Whatever and whenever my father deems me ready or worthy enough to bless me with his little golden gifts, I gladly receive them - up until then, I delight in what I have

I believe that the relationship between a student and a teacher, should be symbiotically reciprocal. The teacher finds joy, happiness and purpose in teaching all he knows (in life and in the art specifically), while the student receives, imbibes, breathes and lives with the same joy, happiness and purpose that has been generously bestowed onto him from his teacher.

A true student, who in some way, shape or form, has been transformed in his/her life, because of the ever-giving teachers ways, would automatically be recognized a thousand miles away, by others who have similarly been affected and/or changed by the teacher. The intrinsic essence of a living soul, can dramatically be seen and transferred onto people willing, ready and open to change. Now this of course means positively and negatively. What are you more attracted to?

Knowing that my father and of course every living person on earth, would one day pass from this life to the next; one should not wait until after the passing to pay honor through your life. Our changed and transformed ways should be obvious, present and living full and well in our lives now, giving honor to our teacher, while he's living amongst us.

It would be a huge dishonor and massively toxic blot of poison, to play lip-service, while wearing the proverbial mask, to go looting your teacher for everything he has, so that you can greedily take, take, take for your glory! Unfortunately, only time would tell who was truly for or against you.

"There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way to death.
"
- Proverbs 14:12

Don't wait to get caught with your mask half off. Take it off completely now, so that you still have a chance from this day forward, to live an honorable, noble and upright life - I still try to every day!
